How post-op rehab works
We follow your surgeon's protocol phase by phase: protecting healing tissue early, restoring range of motion, then rebuilding strength and function. Your therapist communicates with your surgeon's office and tracks your progress against the milestones they expect.
Most insurance plans cover post-surgical physical therapy with a referral from your surgeon, which you'll usually receive before discharge. Here's what to bring to your first visit.
Prehab: get stronger before surgery
Patients who do physical therapy before a joint replacement generally recover faster afterward. If you have surgery scheduled, ask us about a short prehab program.
